Bird Dog/Field Trial Galleries
Most of the English setters and pointers appearing in the photographs compete in one of the oldest sports in America...Pointing Dog Field Trials sanctioned by The American Field, the oldest purebred dog registry in the United States. Steeped in over 125 years of rich history, field trials continue to be enjoyed throughout the country by men and women who love and respect the great outdoors, upland game birds, horses and our extraordinary bird dog athletes.
Dedication From Fields of Glory by Everett M. Skehan
To all bird dogs, great and small, famous and obscure. For they give so much and sacrifice so willingly, always eager to please and asking nothing in return. It is the dogs that display the courage, devotion and athletic supremacy to elevate the sport of field trialing to its highest peak. They are the gladiators, the valiant competitors so worthy of our honor and praise. They are the stars that shine so brightly and we are merely the supporting cast coming in from the shadows to share in the warmth of their glow.
